Ward B was on the second floor of the The St.Mary's building. Really there was only two floors and then a separate building fenced off from the rest of the institute.
It was some time in December but it's hard to know for sure, Time passes so slowly here that every day feelings both repetitive and exhilarating. Today was no exception to that rule as new patients from ward C were moving into ward B. This was a very rare occasion and happened roughly once every six months, though not many patients stay that long.
The average span for anybody else in these wards is roughly 2-3 months and in ward A it's an even shorter time, some patients only stay for weeks. But those from Ward C were lifers. They are a special breed of crazy. And now submersed with the current patients, there chances the possibility for disaster.

First day in a brand new ward with brand new people and brand new places. People started to smell different to Solvain. He hadn't seen anyone in a long time let alone a big rush of messed up people. He had only seen his doctor for the past few months and the doctor determined that Solvain was ready to be around people again.
"I think being around other people would be critical to your recovery"
There was this odd thrill about walking down the hall to his room that had been missing the past few months. People meant connections to the outside, connections meant perks and drugs and other thrills, and Solvain knew how to get these things. He looked for younger spirits to connect with but he wasn't embarrassed to look at some older women or nurses. They would love a young boy to pay them attention in a place full of wild creatures.
Solvain appeared to be overly normal to the naked eye. He didn't need to lie or cheat or yell as so many of these people needed to however he seemed to situate himself in a position of power usually. He was a powerful man in actuality. His father was a lawyer and his mother a very popular noble women in the town. His sister is an actress for the theater and would couch her brother on ways to look proud and rich.
The dinning hall had a smell of rubbing people and food that was too bland to manage. Solvain took a deep breath and sat down waiting to have food brought to him.
